Serve People

Take Your Next Step by serving in FUSE as a student leader.

FUSE is for everyone! Student Leadership is how we can serve everyone.

What is Student Leadership?

Maybe you’re thinking, “I come to every FUSE event and program, doesn’t that make me a leader?” Not necessarily. It makes you a regular face around here, but a leader isn’t just someone who shows up. A leader is committed to a different calling.

FUSE student leaders are any student, between 8th and 12th grades, who demonstrates the maturity and servant’s heart necessary to lead their peers within the FUSE Student Ministry community.

Student Leaders commit for a minimum of one (1) school year (typically August thru May) to serve FUSE by helping connect your peers to Jesus, each other, and the local church. You do that through serving the needs of your peers and working alongside our FUSE adult leaders on Sunday nights.

What Student Leadership is not.

Student Leadership is NOT an exclusive club.  Student Leadership exists to include others and connect them with others.

Student Leadership is NOT entitled to any special perks, only sacred responsibilities.  People with titles (like ‘Student Leader’ get entitled.  We want to avoid that danger.

Student Leadership does not exist to receive the praise of others.  “And [Jesus] said to them, ‘If anyone would be first, he must be last of all and servant of all.’” Mark 9:35

Are You a student leader?

  • Are you teachable? Are you willing to learn by receiving criticism?
  • Do you want to grow in areas that are outside your comfort bubble?
  • Do you have a heart to serve and not be served in the way that Jesus describes (Mark 10:45, John 13:1-20)?
  • Are you responsible? Do you follow through on the roles that are given to you?
  • Do you have a heart for your peers to know Jesus?
  • Do you have a heart for your campus to know Jesus?

What does Student Leadership look like?

  • Student Leaders will serve FUSE by preparing for Sunday nights in various ways such as game prep, worship, AV Tech, cleanup, and other roles it takes to accomplish the goal of the night.
  • All Student Leaders will serve as a welcoming and smiling face to all students who come to FUSE and help students get connected with the ministry of FUSE.
  • Student Leadership members will participate in the Sunday evening Pre-service huddles and prayer time.
  • Participate in monthly Student Leadership trainings on the first Saturday night of each month.
