Featuring KB:

Rapper Kevin Burgess, now better known by his stage name KB, plays the trumpet. When hip-hop is synonymous with devil-music in your household, the trumpet is a safer outlet for musical expression. Fast-forward to the present, and Tampa FL based artist KB has found redemption in what was once the forbidden music of his youth. After obtaining a Theology degree, he dove into Christian hip-hop, releasing a mixtape, a widely successful debut album and a Dove award-winning EP (for Rap/Hip Hop Song of the Year, “100”). He shows no signs of slowing down – his recently released second hip-hop studio album, Tomorrow We Live, has earned media praise as “a straight masterpiece” and “KB’s first classic.” The artistry of Tomorrow We Live has brought both critical acclaim and commercial success, debuting on the Billboard charts at No. 1 on Top Christian Albums, No. 4 on Top Rap Albums, and in the top 20 on the iconic Billboard 200. KB has also achieved industry recognition as a Recording Academy featured artist on His talent in the studio is matched by his high-octane live shows – he has toured with Lecrae, Tenth Avenue North, and top Reach Records artists. KB with be sharing a message and performing at Big Winter Weekend.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Big Winter Weekend?

Big Winter Weekend is a two-day retreat/camp/mission trip/conference for 6th - 12th grade students. There will be three sessions, one breakout session, a time of serving, and an amazing concert.

Who can come to Big Winter Weekend?

Any student in 6th - 12th grade.

What will the session be like?

We will begin each session with some fun. It might be a really funny video or a super fun game led by our awesome Big Winter Weekend hosts. Then the band will come on the stage for high energy music that you will love and then a speaker will come to share a message that is super relevant and applicable to your life.

What will the concert be like?

A lot of fun. Check out KB & Propaganda on YouTube.

What are Squads?

Squads are small groups of students and leaders of the same gender who will be together the whole weekend. We will put you in the squad with the person who invited you. Just let us know they invited you! The Squads will be spending the night in host homes, discussing the sessions, and serving the city together. When you register write down one person you really want to have in your squad and we will do our very best to place you in that squad with them.

What are host homes?

For epikos students only. Host homes are families in epikos who have opened up their homes so squads can spend the night together. They will provide you space to sleep, hook you up with snacks and breakfast, and be overall super awesome hosts!

What is Serve The City?

Serve The City is our time to give back to the city we live in. We will be working together, in our squads, to serve various ministries, organizations, and non-profits in our community that work directly with people in Milwaukee. We will provide everything you will need to serve, all you need to do is be ready to give back to MKE.
