Frequently Asked Questions

What is Big Winter Weekend?

Big Winter Weekend is a two-day retreat/camp/service trip/conference for 6th - 12th grade students. There will be three main stage sessions, one breakout session, a time of serving, and an amazing concert.

Who can come to Big Winter Weekend?

Any student in 6th - 12th grade.

I am older than 12th grade. Can I still go?

Big Winter Weekend is for 6th - 12th graders. However, the concert on Saturday night is open for all ages. Tickets are available for purchase here.

Can I come if I don't go to FUSE or epikos?

YES! Students who aren't from epikos are more than welcome to join us (with parent's permission). If you go to another youth group, make sure you let your youth pastor/youth leader know and so your entire group can come. FUSE Students can invite their friends who don't go to epikos or are apart of FUSE. Make sure you let us know who invited you when you register so we can make sure they are in your squad group. This is for any student between 6th - 12th grade.

What will the session be like?

We will begin each session with some fun. It might be a really funny video or a super fun game led by our awesome Big Winter Weekend hosts. Then the band will come on the stage for high energy music that you will love and then a speaker will come to share a message that is super relevant and applicable to your life.

What are Squads?

For epikos students only. Squads are small groups of students and leaders of the same gender who will be together the whole weekend. The Squads will be spending the night in host homes, discussing the sessions, and serving the city together. When you register write down one person you really want to have in your squad and we will do our very best to place you in that squad with them. If you are not an epikos student and you were invited to Big Winter Weekend, we will place you in the squad with the student who invited you.

What are host homes?

Host homes are families in epikos who have opened up their homes so squads can spend the night together. They will provide you space to sleep, hook you up with snacks and breakfast, and be overall super awesome hosts!

What is Serve The City?

Serve The City is our time to give back to the city we live in. We will be working together, in our squads, to serve various ministries, organizations, and non-profits in our community that work directly with people in Milwaukee. We will provide everything you will need to serve, all you need to do is be ready to give back to MKE.

I am a Youth Pastor/Leader and I want to bring my students to Big Winter Weekend. Can I do that?

Yes! Last year we had three other youth ministries join us for Big Winter Weekend. All you would need to do is contact Frank at and let him know you want to bring your group. He will get back to you with details on how that will work.

I have another question?

Great! I would love to answer them! Contact Pastor Frank at and he will get back to you asap!
